For many of you, your visits to our winery, Madonna del Latte, have been a chance to experience the deep love we have for Italy—a love you can taste in every glass, feel in the rustle of the vines, and share in the warmth of our conversations. This enduring passion, however, runs deep in our family and has long taken another form: travel.
Before Madonna del Latte was even a dream, Leon’s mother, Manuela Zardo, spent over 40 years guiding small groups through Italy’s most iconic sites and hidden treasures. Through her German company, Incontri Culturali, she has cultivated a reputation for crafting unique, high-end journeys that open doors usually closed to the public. These aren't just tours; they are curated experiences that create lasting memories through deep, authentic connections to the places and people.
We are now excited to share that we’re bringing this legacy of travel to you through a new venture: IC Exclusive Travel. It's an invitation to explore Italy just as we do—by savoring the rich history, embracing the local culture, and discovering the hidden gems that make this country so special. Designed for wine enthusiasts and lovers of Italian culture, these trips are intimate and deeply personal, crafted with the same care we pour into every bottle of wine.
Our first journey, Through the Heart of Italy, will take place from May 21–27, 2026. This weeklong adventure through Umbria and southern Tuscany includes exploring the grand Duomo of Orvieto and the timeless hill towns of Civita di Bagnoregio and Pitigliano. You'll enjoy a private Brunello wine tour and tasting in Montalcino, discover the Renaissance jewel of Pienza, and indulge in an exclusive wine tasting dinner at our very own Madonna del Latte winery. The journey concludes with a scenic boat tour on Lago di Bolsena, followed by a farewell dinner in a magical lakeside setting.
